The following is an example of a
Corporate Quality Policy.
It is the backbone of the company's Quality Management System. The goals of this
policy can be verified by an auditor, but more importantly, by the company,
through a variety of metrics.
|
|
XYZ Company Quality Policy
We, the employees of XYZ Company, proudly
pronounce our personal commitment to understand, meet and, when possible,
exceed our Customer's Requirements through the continuous improvement of our
processes. We are dedicated to delivering defect-free product on-time at the
most competitive cost possible.
|
The metrics for this Quality Policy could be:
"...our personal commitment..." -
training records, a "Personal Commitment" form signed by each
employee.
"...through Continuous Improvement..." - the number of process
improvements submitted by employees on a monthly, yearly basis.
"...delivering defect-free product..." - Quality Report Cards provided
by Customers or internal metrics.
"...on-time..." - Delivery Rating Report Cards supplied by Customers
or internal metrics.
"...at the most competitive cost..." - A chart indicating cost
reductions to Customers.
Remember, you are not trying to impress an
auditor. You must develop a Quality Policy and associated metrics which are
right for your company.
